Qosmedix will introduce its newest innovation at Cosmoprof NA Miami—the biowand. It's the industry's first biodegradable cosmetic applicator, the supplier says.

The applicator's tips and handles are both biodegradable. The biowand is made from a blend of proprietary materials, including Polylactic Acid (PLA), a plant-based bioplastic derived from renewable resources such as corn, cassava, and sugarcane.

The biowand is available in two designs—a plush doe foot lip gloss applicator and a point tip eye shadow applicator. It offers an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional single-use tools without compromising on hygiene or quality, the company says. 

Qosmedix is known for its disposable cosmetic applicators, because the company invented the hygienic tool in the 1980s. A selection of its disposable applicators are shown above.
